Amy’s work was inspired by a recent article (read here), which explains that there’s been a noticeable increase in the deaths of black people by hanging since the death of George Floyd. Although these deaths have been ruled as suicide by police, family members of the deceased are suspicious that this is not the case. Amy’s response to the article aesthetically detail the traumas of black history, and the affects these traumas still have today.
